God's Warning to the Church

"Blow the trumpet in Zion;
sound the alarm on my holy hill,
Let all who live in the land tremble,
for the day of the Lord is coming.
It is close at hand." Joel 2:1

"The end of all things is near,
Therefore be clear minded and self-controlled
so that you can pray. For it is time for judgment
to begin with the house of God; and if it begins
with us, what will be the outcome for those who
do not obey the gospel of God?" I Peter 4: 7, 17

CHAINED TO THE FOOT OF THE CROSS

Oh, the depth of the sacrifice of the blood of Jesus Christ. But, oh, the depth of the shallowness and vanity and indifference in the church today.

The church needs to be chained to the foot of the cross so the blood from His body could drip upon their suits and dresses and faces. Would they be offended?

They need to be made to remember His sacrifice. They need to be made to remember His torture; that on their behalf He hung naked on the cross in front of His mother. The church needs to be chained to the foot of the cross.

PARALYZED BODY

Sometimes people say, "I wish Jesus were here in the flesh because there is so much wrong in the world. If He were here things would be different."

Jesus is here in the flesh.

The Body of Christ is here. He is the Head of this Body which He gave to the world.

The reason people don't realize this is because His body isn't moving. It does not respond to its head. He has a paralyzed body. He can't get it to do anything that He would have it to do. Oh, such frustration He suffers to have a body which will not move and speak according to His will. This body acts independently of its Head.

He has a paralyzed body.

JUDAS CHURCH

The living God likens the present day church to a fountain sending forth sweet water and bitter water at the same time. How is that possible?

The Father looks into the church and sees them singing and worshiping Him, then disobeying Him.

The church is like Judas. The church kisses Jesus with their praise and worship, then betrays Him with their disobedience.

Church, do you know that you are the tares among the wheat? You think those scriptures apply to sinners among you. But it is the religious church who are the tares. The wheat are those who know and obey Jesus, who is the living Word of God. The wheat is His remnant church.

The living God says, "You betray Me with a kiss. You betray Me with your praise and worship. You do not do what I would have you do. You tell Me to bless what you devise. You walk according to your own way. This is bitter water."

"The church betrays Me with a kiss."

"I hate, I despise your religious feasts; I cannot stand your assemblies. Even though you bring Me burnt offerings, I will not accept them. Though you bring choice fellowship offerings, I will have no regard for them. Away with the noise of your songs! I will not listen to the music of your harps." Amos 5:21-23

POSITIVE GOD

Church, if Jeremiah, John the Baptist, or the prophet Amos, spoke to you in person today, you would call them "negative." You would admonish them not to judge. You would tell them not to "criticize."

You teach, "Don't be negative. He is a positive God." Yes, He is! He is positive for holiness, justice, and righteousness.

You say, "Jesus is sweet and kind." Yet you deliberately forget that Jesus in His righteous anger made a whip and overthrew the tables in the temple. He called the religious leaders harsh names. If Jesus did this in your church, you would judge Him. You would throw Him out, saying, "You're criticizing the church." Yet when Jesus returns, He will have a rod of iron in His hand with which to rule, and a sharp sword coming out of His mouth. How positive will that be?

"What right have you to recite My laws, or take My covenant on your lips? You hate My instruction and cast My words behind you. You speak continually against your brother ... these things you have done and I kept silent; you thought I was altogether like you. But I will rebuke you and accuse you to your face. Consider this, you who forget God, or I will tear you to pieces with none to rescue." Psalm 50:16,17,20-22

"Jesus Christ is the same yesterday, and today, and forever." Hebrews 13:8

THE WORD AS A SWORD

Many say the Bible is true. They say it is the Word of God. They then disobey it, and use it as a weapon against others. They rarely apply the Scriptures to themselves.

You who use his Word - never to judge your own ways, your own actions, your own hearts - will be judged by the same Word. You will be judged by the same Word that you didn't understand, but were so quick to wield against others.

Jesus is the living Word of God. When you stand before Him, those very Scriptures that you used, as you were led by your carnal minds, not submitting to the Holy Spirit, will rise up against you, and you will be pierced by the Word of God Himself.

"For the word of God is living and active. Sharper than any double-edged sword, it penetrates even to dividing soul and spirit, joints and marrow; it judges the thoughts and attitudes of the heart." Hebrews 4:12

MILLIONS UPON MILLIONS

The present time is worse than the former, because in the former times when it was the apple of God's eye, His chosen ones, who rejected Him, it was shameful enough. But in this present time millions upon millions of Christians who use the name of Jesus are no better than sinners who use His name as a curse.

Millions upon millions use the name of Jesus and don't know Him at all. They worship Him in word, then reject Him in deed. They pain the heart of Jesus. Out of this multitude only a few will enter His kingdom. He calls these few His remnant.

The church uses His name in vain. They use His name with pious faces, yet deny His power, His Lordship, His authority, His very presence.

Jesus Christ requires obedience from His people. He does not need song services, seminars, or church services. He requires obedience!

"You shall not misuse the name of the Lord your God, for the Lord will not hold anyone guiltless who misuses His name." Exodus 20:7

THE BLOOD

You walk into your church. There in front, instead of a pulpit, is a life-sized cross. On it is a bloody, battered, naked body. Pieces of flesh are hanging down. There He is right in front of you. He is bloody and beaten, with His face distorted in agony. You can smell His body from where you sit. He is an unbearably shocking sight. Why should it shock you? You sing songs about His blood and His sacrifice. Don't you think about what you are singing? Or do you even still sing about His blood?

Jesus said, "Take this cup. It is My blood. Remember Me." Do you remember Him?

Have you ever seen human bloodshed? What is our reaction to bloodshed? When we hear of it, or see it, it shocks us. Jesus had a human body. It was His human blood that was poured out on the ground. It was the price He paid to redeem us.

What if the only sermon for the day was the sight of His naked, bloody body? Could you sit there for an hour and a half just looking at the price Jesus paid for you?

Would you ever again carelessly sing about His blood?

Would you leave your church, once again, thinking of everything but Jesus?

He shed His blood; His body was crushed. He says, "Do this in remembrance of Me," so you take the cracker in your mouth. You crush it between your jaws and consume it. Jesus did not resist the horror that came upon Him. He says, "Come, take Me in your jaws of sin and crush Me. I am utterly crushed for your iniquities. I am consumed by your sin... for your sake."

Moses sprinkled the people with the fellowship offering. He spattered them with blood. How would you feel to have blood spattered on your face and body? Could you go on to have an Easter play with fun, fun, fun? Or would you see the blood that covers you and fall on your face before the living God?

Jesus suffered incomprehensible suffering. He became our sin - the sin of all; past, present, and future. Remember the price that Jesus paid. Remember and be changed.

"Therefore, whoever eats the bread or drinks the cup of the Lord in an unworthy manner will be guilty of sinning against the body and blood of the Lord. A man ought to examine himself before he eats of the bread and drinks of the cup. For anyone who eats and drinks without recognizing the body of the Lord eats and drinks judgment on himself." I Corinthians 11:27-29

FOUR CORNERS OF YOUR FIELD

"When you reap the harvest of your land, you shall not wholly reap the corners of your field, neither shall you gather the gleanings of your harvest. And you shall not glean the vineyard, neither shall you gather every grape of your vineyard; you shall leave them for the poor and the stranger. I am the Lord your God." Leviticus 19:9,10

The living God looks at two things: the state of the church today and the state of the sinners' hearts. The two are linked together. He looks at the church first. If the church does not repent of their disobedience, they will be held accountable for those who do not know Jesus Christ and die in their sin. Because of your failure, church, to obey the Holy Spirit and the Word of God, and be living sacrifices for Him, you will be held accountable for the sinners' hearts.

Complacent church, do you know this?

You are held accountable for the ones who die in their sin, to whom you had opportunity to proclaim the gospel of Jesus Christ, but did not. When you say, as you stand before Him, "See our good works," He will say, "See the procession to hell."

The church has failed.

What are you willing to do for your Savior? You saw Mother Teresa go out into the world to the garbage dumps, where Jesus led her, to find the human refuse. The people she found were dying, diseased, and stank of death. However, in obedience to the Holy Spirit, the Word of God, and Jesus' command, she picked them up in her arms, saying, "This is Jesus."

You think, "How nice it was of her to do that." You think this was her ministry. She went out to find the dying and the needy. She didn't wait for them to come to her. No one should be left on the street while the Body of Christ is alive. The church should be obedient and willing to do anything that Jesus tells them to do.

We are witnesses. We pass through your cities in obedience to His will, and what we see will be held against you.

You let Jesus lie on the street. You see Him cold, hungry, and comfortless, yet you have no pity on Him. You hide behind your programs and policies, thinking they absolve you from holding Jesus in your arms.

Do you really believe Jesus will say to you, "Well done"?

Jesus poured out His life for you. He came to serve you. But you serve only yourselves. You are happy with your church, whose works are dead. Your works are without love, not led by His Holy Spirit.

He calls you to repent, lest He spit you out. Repent, and touch the leper, as He did. Are you greater than your Master? Will you never know what it is to be moved with compassion?

In your works, do you give from the four corners of your field? The four corners have the same grain, of equal value, as the grain of which you partake.

Those who come to your four corners, you judge. You don't treat them as you would treat Jesus. You feel superior to them. If you give at all, you give what you don't want or need.

Is this your sacrifice? Jesus didn't treat you with indifference, without love. He gave everything for you. All that you have you owe to Him. Your life, family, money, job, car, and house, belong to Him. You don't own anything, not even yourself. You were bought with a price.

Jesus called His church to be a living sacrifice. He says the church has failed Him. Vain, arrogant, and shallow. Those are His words for you, church.

"If we claim to be without sin, we deceive ourselves and the truth is not in us. If we claim we have not sinned, we make Him out to be a liar and His word has no place in our lives." I John 1:8,10

"We know that we have come to know Him if we obey His commands. The man who says, "I know Him," but does not do what He commands is a liar, and the truth is not in him. This is how we know we are in Him: whoever claims to live in Him must walk as Jesus did." 1 John 2:3,4,6

WITH ALL YOUR STRENGTH

The living God looks into your heart, church, and finds that you don't love Him. You don't care about Him.

You say that you love Jesus. You do your duties in the church. You also say, "Look at all the good things that we do." What are they to Him? He looks in your heart and sees that these works are without love.

God is love. God is passionate love. Works mean nothing to Him. They mean nothing, even if done unto death. Without Jesus and His love in us, pouring out from us, all works are meaningless.

The living God says, "The church is religious and full of works and has failed in love." How the Father views the church and how the church views itself, are two very different things. How much you pray, how many Scriptures you've memorized, how much you tithe, are nothing to Him.

Why is Jesus not willing for any to perish, even though it is what we all deserve? It is because of the greatness of His love. What do you know of that love?

The Scriptures say, "Love the Lord your God with all your heart, with all your strength." Where is the strength of your love for Jesus?

Jesus said, "This is My commandment that you love each other, even as I have loved you." The cross shows how He loves you. But you, if you see a man lying in the street, turn away, saying, "Our church already has a program for the poor." Disobedient church, the parables of the lost coin and the lost lamb show how He values each person, saved or sinner. And what do you value? You value your appearance of having love. You do your alms before men. You love your new church buildings, and big parking lots. What is in those beautiful buildings? Strangers sitting next to strangers, religious and dead in spirit.

Woe to you, church without love. Barren church. You want to be loved by Him, and never chastised or judged, even though you reject His commands.

You are selfish, greedy children. You want Him to prosper you, to rain down blessings on you, to revive you, and to rapture you. He says, "Freely you have received, freely give." But you will not give, you will not love, with all your strength. If you do not repent, you will wish, with all your strength, you were not in hell.

"Be not deceived, God is not mocked, for whatever a man sows, that shall he reap." The church without love will reap his wrath.

"If I speak in the tongues of men and of angels, but have not love, I am only a resounding gong or a clanging cymbal. If I have the gift of prophecy and can fathom all mysteries and all knowledge, and if I have a faith that can move mountains, but have not love, I am nothing. If I give all I possess to the poor, and surrender my body to the flames, but have not love, I gain nothing." I Corinthians 13:1-3
